The parish of St Anne joyfully welcomed 36 newly confirmed students in May. The Confirmation Mass was celebrated by Bishop Sebastian Francis and concelebrated with Fr Leo Elias with Deacon Lazarus and seminarian Bro Desmond Jansen assisting.

In his homily, Bishop Sebastian reminded the congregation that we were in the precious time between the resurrection of Jesus Christ and Pentecost. He invited everyone to ponder on what Jesus’ death meant to all of us.

“We thank and praise God for these young adults who will receive the Holy Spirit today. You must remain faithful to the essentials of your faith found in the apostles creed, in the beatitudes, in the seven sacrament, to name a few. You, young adults, will start to make important decisions. You and I must learn to pray and ask the Holy Spirit to help us to discern before we make our decisions,” he gently reminded the to-be-confirmed young adults.

The confirmation rites began right after the homily.

These young adults attended a confirmation camp last year conducted by Martin Jalleh. Their catechists, Jimmy Khor and Eugene, had put in a lot of effort in preparing them for this special day.

Before the Mass ended, the youths presented a dance and then received their certificates from the bishop.
