The Butterworth Parish organised a “Recruitment Drive” on December 8, to get more people to participate and serve in the church. Fr Dominic Santhiyagu, the parish priest, has been encouraging the parishioners to be ‘fruitful persons’ in sharing their talents and serving through the ministries. He added that “your talent is God’s  gift to you but what you do with your talent is your gift to God”.

After the Sunday morning Mass, many turned up to explore potential ways to serve. Fr Dom was very happy with the turn out and hopes to see more new faces in the ministries. He thanked all for the creative and joyful participation. Stephen Chin, the PPC chair was impressed with the effort put in by the various organisations to create and promote  awareness of their respective organisations or ministries.

He said there was some new recruitment done and hoped to think of more ways to get regular ‘Sunday Catholics’ to come forth generously to contribute their talents.

Jacqueline, the Liturgy Head, felt it was an awesome experience and was thrilled with the overwhelming response. She said that this was the first of its kind and was timely to get more participants.
