KUCHING: “Cherish the gifts of the Holy Spirit, especially that of wisdom, understanding and knowledge,” said Archbiahop Simon Poh to the 68 confirmands from the English and Chinese Level 10 classes from Blessed Sacrament Church Oct 2.
“At Confirmation, you are sealed with the sign of the cross, a sign that you have now received the gift of the Holy Spirit and belong to Jesus,” he added.
Archbishop Poh asked everyone to pray like never before, and that if there was only one chance given to him to be used by God, he would pray for the Holy Spirit to empower and strengthen them.
The prelate affirmed the power of the Holy Spirit with the example of an incident he experienced outside the local high court last year.
He received the wisdom to deal with the heckling with a call for peace and religious harmony, which produced calm and dispersion of the unruly crowd and the situation was swiftly contained.
