Children go on outreach

The Standard 5 Catechism students and their family members from Kristus Aman Chapel visited Rumah Ozanam Nov 3. This visit was in line with Pope Francis’ call for missionary works during the Extraordinary Year of Mission. Since the Standard 5 syllabus covered service to others, this was a good opportunity for students to practise what they had learnt in class.

Donations of essential items were collected from the class before the visit. They started with some praise and worship and games. There was much laughter and goodwill. At the end of the visit, there were refreshments and fellowship.

Some teenagers at the home remembered the Standard 5 class visit 4 years ago. The catechists hope to make this visit an annual event with other Standard 5 stu dents in future.

They were touched to see the wonderful care the children received at Rumah Ozanam.

We remember our Holy Father’s words of inspiration, “Go and show love to everyone, because your life is a precious mission. It is not a burden to be borne, but a gift to offer. Have courage, and let us fearlessly go forth to all!”
