RAWANG: The Church of St Jude Thaddeus launched its new parish logo during the feast of Corpus Christi on June 19.
Parish priest, Fr Vincent Thomas, said the change was necessary in order to unite everyone under one logo. He then explained the rationale for the logo as follows:
-- The depiction of St Jude uses a familiar silhouette to maintain a connection with the old and the new. The halo symbolises the sainthood of St Jude.
-- The dove represents the Holy Spirit and is a symbol of lasting peace and steadfast hope. St Jude is the ‘Patron Saint of Hopeless Cases/Causes’.
-- The circular styling symbolises unity in the community. The circles also form a window, which represent looking into a person’s soul and being comforted by the reflection of God.
-- The white cross in the background symbolises Christ, a sign of our faith and spiritual foundation.
-- The colours green and white represent the traditional colours of St Jude, and symbolise ‘Peace’, ‘Serenity’, ‘Hope’ and ‘Care for Creation’. The colour red symbolises strength, courage and fervour to continue the mission of Christ on earth.
