On Jan 10, a total of 29 members of the Catholic Education Committee (CEC) and 20 from the Children’s Liturgy of the Word (CLOW) were commissioned during the 9.00am Mass at the Church of the Divine Mercy (CDM).

The number of faith sharers was important for the faith development of around 215 children registered for Catechism.

The parish priest, Fr Martin Arlando, had repeatedly encouraged members of the parish to join these two ministries, especially in this Jubilee Year of Mercy.

In doing so, they would be able to fulfil two Spiritual Works of Mercy: To instruct the ignorant and counsel the doubtful. He reiterated that, in doing so, they would also increase their own knowledge of the faith.

As a souvenir, each faith sharer was given a laminated bookmark of the Eight Beatitudes for Catechists and an adapted prayer from A Catechist’s Prayer, both from the words of Sr Marie Roccapriore, MPF. After Mass, the first CEC classes for the year commenced.
