The Feast of Ave Stella Maris was celebrated on August 23 on Langkawi Island. The theme for the feastday was Journey with God, Consecrate Our Lives and Rejoice in God’s Mercy. Many people from the mainland, as well as tourists, came for the Eucharistic Celebration.
Fr Charles Chin was the main celebrant. In his homily, Fr Chin spoke about Mary, who is also described and honoured as the Star of the Sea. She is the Patron Saint who cares for the people whose livelihood depends on the sea.
