The Islanders Tamil Youth Network (ITYN) gathered to review its journey of the past ten years and to plan for 2016. The group was formed under the initiatives of PDYN in 2006.
Representatives from all the Parishes were sent to be in the working committee in the group.
The working committee was fully committed. It met weekly to know, understand and share their spiritual experiences, as well as to plan programmes for young people to live a Christcentred life.
The only fund- raising project, held annually, was the flower sales during All Souls Day. The collection from the sale is used to organize all the programmes.
This year is the 4th term for the team. Leadership positions were taken up by the junior team who have actively served in the past years.
Spiritual Input Sessions and Motivation Sessions were held and the current working committee is fully committed to serve wholeheartedly, focusing on the theme from Hebrews 6:3 Let Us Go Forward…..If It Is God’s Will. Exciting, new, fun-filled programmes have been planned for 2016. Young people must be encouraged to be a part of every programme and this can only be a success with the support of parents and family.
ITYN takes this opportunity to thank the Diocese of Penang, PDYN, the advisors, past and present, volunteers, Well Wishers, supporters and each and every one who has contributed to its success.
We earnestly ask every one of you to remember the Young People in your daily prayers.
