PETALING JAYA: In the spirit of muhibbah, the Tun Abdul Aziz Mosque in Section 14 organised a Chinese New Year party for the local community in conjunction with its 41st anniversary.

The Section 14 mosque nicknamed Masjid Bulat might be the first to hold Lunar New Year celebrations on its premises.

According to a poster posted on the mosque’s Facebook page, the celebration was aimed at bridging Muslim and non-Muslim ties.

Among the activities held during the party was a lucky draw, an exhibition touting the importance of community relations that focused on welfare, education and health.

The mosque gave away ang pows, and even took non-Muslims on a tour of their religious sanctuary.

Visitors also tossed a yee sang dish together at the Dato’ Abdul Wabah Majid hall where large round tables decked in festive red cloth were arranged for guests.

The Masjid Bulat celebrated its anniversary this year from February 22 to 25, with a series of lectures and community activities. --malaymailonline
