Seniors have three-in-one celebration

Seventyeight members of PAMSPEC (Parish Ministry of Senior Persons Circle) from the Church of the Holy Rosary (HRC) including Fr Joachim Tan and Msgr Daniel Lim, went in two buses on a pilgrimage to the Holy Family Chapel in Genting Highlands Nov 7.

They were met by Fr Augustine Lee at the cable car station. Everyone then walked together to the tiny but beautiful Holy Family Chapel. Mass was celebrated by Msgr Lim with Fr Tan and Fr Lee concelebrating.

In his homily, Msgr Lim reminded the seniors that whenever they celebrate their birthday, they must thank their parents, especially their mothers, for giving birth to them. They must also thank God for the gift of their parents.

He went on to say that every one is given a mission by God and he/she has to discern what his/her mission is. We have to do what we can, whether it is helping the poor and the marginalised or saving Mother Earth. Whatever we do we must realise that God is still at work in this world and we have to have complete trust in Him.

After Mass, everyone adjourned to the Coffee Terrace for a sumptuous buffet lunch to celebrate Msgr. Lim’s birthday. The beautiful cake was cut by Msgr Lim and all the Pamspec members whose birthdays were in November.

They were such a joyful group that almost all the diners in the restaurant joined them in singing “Happy Birthday”.

After lunch everyone went shopping in the Premium Outlets.

The seniors arrived safely at Holy Rosary Church at around 6.00pm with hearts filled with praises and thanksgiving to God for the happy three-in-one (Pilgrimage, birthday celebration and shopping at the Premium Outlets) memorable day as most of the “goldies” have not been to Genting Highlands for more than ten years.
