SFX Legionaries and the disabled celebrate with online rosary

PETALING JAYA: The Prayer Missionaries group, which is made up of the differently abled members of the faithful, came together with the members of the Legion of Mary (LOM) from the Church of St Francis Xavier (SFX) for an online rosary session on the Feast of St Francis Xavier, the patron of missions.

This was organised in conjunction with the International Day of Disabled Persons. The session started with a short welcome by Fr Edwin Peter who engages with the Prayer Missionaries. They come together on Saturdays via the online platform to recite the rosary.

Lily Anthony of WHEELS did a great job in coordinating the efforts of all the members, with each member contributing some significant part for the day. The Prayer Missionaries, together with the LOM members of SFX, recited the rosary in pious devotion. Truly it was in line with the tagline of the Prayer Missionaries: #WePrayGodHears.

The president of the LOM of SFX, Peter Pereira, shared his thanksgiving and appreciation. “We, members of the Legion of Mary of SFX, felt honoured and blessed to be part of the special prayer event organised by and for the differently abled community on the International day of Differently Abled Persons and to celebrate the Feast of St Francis Xavier. We were pleased to experience the joy, cooperation and fellowship of everyone in this amazing community and we thank them for inviting us to join the celebrations.”

Simple yet meaningful sessions like this help us to always stay united in our faith, as well as in the love towards God and one another. After the rosary recitation, some of the participants adjourned to join the online Mass celebrated by Archbishop Julian Leow which was also partially animated virtually by the Prayer Missionaries.
