Sharing the joy of Christmas with children

Children from several dis- tricts around and including Bestari Jaya were feted to a Christmas Luncheon Gathering at the Church of St Paul the Hermit (SPH). Parish priest, Fr VA Michael, welcomed all present, including several parents of the poor children.

In the renovated parish hall, the Christmas gathering kick-started with a prayer, followed by several indoor games including a colour- ing competition. All the children enjoyed the games and many walked away with attractive prizes. The guests were treated to a sumptuous lunch which included chicken and mutton.

The Catholics also entertained the children with several Christmas carols. The children were delighted with the Lucky Draw for some 40 gifts. Many of the winners were the children themselves.

Fr Michael later presented to the 50 children a school bag each. They also received bath towels and other gifts. The children and parents were delighted with the gifts. The event ended with a group photo with Fr Michael.
