Christmas 2022 witnessed many Catholics flocking back to churches and chapels for the Christmas Masses to worship the new-born Saviour and give thanks for the year that was and being able to attend Mass in full force.

At the Church of St Peter, the oldest functioning Catholic church in the country, parishioners and visitors from Singapore, Ipoh, and Kuala Lumpur filled the pews during the two Christmas Day Masses, celebrated by the parish priest, Fr Lionel Thomas.

After both Masses, Fr Lionel, with several lay leaders, greeted the congregation outside the church and presented them with a muffin and a sandwich each. The kind gesture was well received by all and made the visitors feel extra welcome.

Fr Lionel continues to make the parish motto, Becoming A Loving Parish a reality.
