IPOH: For Dylan Jude, 10, receiving his first Holy Communion was the happiest day of his life.

“God is with me. I prayed so hard and read the Bible everyday, as preparation for this special day,” he said.

An altar server at St Michael’ s Church (SMC), Dylan said he was lucky to be placed in a Catholic school, St Michael’s Institution.

He is very impressed by the dedication and prayerfulness of the priests at SMC and hopes to serve the Lord as a priest one day.

Erin Jessica Easuraja, 10, who goes to a National school, said she never forgets her daily prayers. Attending Sunday school is important to her.

“Sometimes, I pray the rosary, and some days, I forget, and just say three Hail Mary’s and then sleep.

“My parents and teachers at Sunday school taught me how important it is to pray and get closer to Jesus. That’s why I am so happy to receive Him today,” she said.

Andrea Anthony, 10, also an altar server during daily Mass at SMC said, receiving Jesus in her First Holy Communion makes her feel happy and comfortable.

“My parents prayed for me and I prayed to Jesus for his love and peace to come into my heart.

“I feel Jesus will help me through any obstacles I face. I especially pray for my mother that she won’t fall ill again and for Jesus to take care of her.”
