KUALA LUMPUR: Currently at the ongoing FABC General Conference, our HFK parishioner, Josephine Tan is one of the three delegates from the Archdiocese of Kuala Lumpur representing Youth. At a plenary session entitled ‘Youth: A Voice for the Church’, Josephine shared her views and experience on the topic with participating delegates consisting of Priests, Bishops, Cardinals and religious.
“We really hope there will be more opportunity for us, the young ones, to be part of this Conference”, she said. Spotting a t-shirt thaCurrently at the ongoing FABC General Conference, our HFK parishioner, Josephine Tan is one of the three delegates from the Archdiocese of Kuala Lumpur representing Youth. t carried the message “We are the now of God”, she emphasised that youth are creative and filled with passion, ready to serve and establish an authentic friendships with the Cardinals and Bishops. She also encouraged all FABC attendees to listen to the voices of the youth. “We really want to be in service of Christ and hope that everyone (in the Synod) will give (us) opportunity to share the Gospel to the entire world”.
Josephine, a youth pastoral worker with ASAYO (Archdiocesan Single Adult and Youth Office) KL for over 4 years, will be working with the attendees at the FABC General Conference in the coming days to formulate a plan and direction for the Church in Asia - reflecting on the modern realities and challenges of the current times while engaging the Catholic youth population.
Echoing Pope Francis’ World Mission Sunday call to all of us to be a witnesses of Christ, let us continue to pray for the youth of our Church that they will experience Christ and be His witness.
