The Church has a mother and she is the Beloved Virgin Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ. She is the most appropriate and ultimate role model for women.

All our mothers emulate Mother Mary in their role as well. To appreciate all mothers in conjunction with Mother’s Day, the Women’s Desk ministry of the Assumption Church, PJ organized a Mother’s Day Tea Party themed The 60s.

All the women, young and old, came dressed in their colourful outfits.

Cecilia Pinto, the leader of the Women’s Desk kickstarted the event with opening prayers and a short introduction on this ministry. Sr Angeline blessed the event before the cake-cutting ceremony.

Catherine Thomas, an experienced London trained beauty consultant was invited to give a talk on the beauty of women, stressing on beauty from within. She had full participation from the floor. Everyone shared their positive thoughts and life experiences that had made them to journey this beautiful path of life as women and as mothers. The talk was truly inspiring.

A very touching video showed how a mother plays her role without expecting anything in return.

The event ended at about 1.00pm with all the attendees expressing their appreciation for the enjoyable time they had had.
