The Women’s Desk of the Assumption Church celebrated International Women’s Day by animating the Sunset Mass on March 8.

The Mass was celebrated by parish priest, Fr Patrick Bouldville.

The Church of the Assumption Women’s Desk is a Catholic Church ministry that provides a platform for women to come together, to help hone a bond, a sense of unity and belonging for women.

We organise educational talks and events, picnics, gatherings, prayer meets, etc. This ministry is for female parishioners of the Church of the Assumption, but we are also open to women outside of this parish. If you need company, just join us.

An hour of prayer for peace was dedicated by praying the Rosary or the Divine Mercy Chaplet at their respective homes at 3.30 pm on International Women’s Day.

During the offertory, the Women’s Desk presented a bouquet of flowers and a heart-shaped manila card, with signatures from all the women who attended Mass that evening.

After Communion, a powerpoint presentation about Women was shown which indicated how our Beloved Virgin Mary is the role model for us all.

Before the Mass ended, we had a few minutes of silence as Fr Bouldville called everyone to pray for the missing MH370.
