  After many years of attending the Parish Pastoral Assemblies (PPA) in the parishes of the Kuala Lumpur Archdiocese, Archbishop Pakiam realised that there was something lacking in the understanding of BECs. In order to help the BECs, he used the four marks of the Universal Church, which are from the Apostles Creed to lend credence to the core needs of the BEC.
